Beneteau Flyer range soon in Malta
date:
02-08-2008
We will no doubt agree that in both the sailing and motor yacht markets, Chantiers Beneteau is one of the biggest players. As for the sailboat ranges, the Oceanis range is by far the key range which today has become synonymous with a good looking yacht designed specifically for fast, comfortable cruising. In the motor boat market, in addition to their Antares line (which is one of the most popular ranges for the Atlantic coasts), the French yard have surprised enthusiasts last year with Monte Carlo – a new range of technologically advanced, fast, sport cruisers that spell Mediterranean style at good value for money.
Over the years, Mediterranean Yacht Sales Ltd, local agents for Beneteau Sailing and Motor yachts were quick in introducing all key new models…both on the sailing and motor boat front. What we haven’t seen however is Beneteau Flyer – Beneteau’s business unit that produces fibreglass outboard speed boats from 5 to 8.5 metres. Earlier this year, Med Yacht Sales managed to finalise a transportation arrangement which has made Beneteau Flyer much more attractive to the local market.
But what is Beneteau Flyer?
Although a range of outboard speed craft in principle, Beneteau has hand picked well known Italian designers to draw the lines of these crafts.
This, coupled with Beneteau’s reputation for superior build quality, offers enthusiasts a well designed, highly specified performace craft. One of the most attractive structural features of the Flyer range is the dynamic deck configuration. On nearly each of the models, Beneteau offer three different deck layouts: Open, Sun Deck and Cabrio.
With 8 models from 5 to 8.5 metres, this range is designed to appeal to a variety of boat enthusiasts with different needs.
Flyer Open – This model type is aimed at those wanting as much seating/cockpit space as possible. This makes for a great day cruiser or even a technical boat due the amount of floor space.
Flyer Sun Deck – targeted at those individuals with a program that requires good cockpit space, basic interior accommodation and a spacious, well designed sun pad forward of the console.
Flyer Cabrio – to be launched for the first time in the Mediterranean at the Valletta Boat Show 2008, the principal market for this model type are families with children. The Cabrios sport a more protective windscreen and interior accommodation that increases the flexibility of the boat when having kids on board.
A selection of these boats will arrive in Malta in September 2008 and will be officially launched at the Valletta Boat Show 2008.
